Job Summary

Responsible for greeting and seating guests, answering phones, taking messages and reservations, maintaining an accurate waitlist when necessary, and bidding farewell to all guests.

Essential Functions

• Determine reservation acceptance per SOP
• Handle reservation calls and record info
• Confirm reservations
• Seat guests evenly and orderly
• Maintain head count
• Complete and pass on message pads promptly
• Check washrooms and coordinate cleaning
• Keep host area clean and organized
• Sell and account for gift certificates
• Adjust tables for party size
• Engage with guests pleasantly
• Communicate effectively with guests

When on a wait, must be willing and able to:

• Quote wait times accurately
• Assign tables efficiently
• Maintain control sheet
• Anticipate special parties' needs
• Communicate seating needs
• Inform guests about wait system

Requirements

Qualifications: Minimum 1-year full service restaurant experience or equivalent. Accurate math skills required.

• Knowledge of menu and specials
• Restaurant layout including table and station numbers

Willing and Able to:

• Meet schedule punctually
• Be warm, sincere, outgoing
• Stand for long periods
• Move safely throughout the restaurant
• Work amidst noise and in crowded spaces
• Handle chairs and high chairs
• Work nights, weekends, and holidays
