Responsibilities

Salary Range: $18.00 To $24.00 Hourly

Major Food Group is hiring Hosts our team at Contessa located at the Newburry hotel. Contessa is the crown jewel of dining atop one of Boston’s most glamorous hotels,The Newbury Boston . Delightfully re-imagined, this rooftop destination is inspired by the old-world resorts of Europe and the lasting estates of Italy where classic grand trattoria cuisine awaits.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greets and seats guests, presents menus to guests, informs them of special catch and soups.
• Treats all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strives to exceed guests' expectations.
• Takes names on a waiting list.
• Runs the floor plan board.
• Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty and occupied tables.
• Takes guest information and quotes wait times to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available.
• Cleans, organizes and stocks menus at the host area.
• Answers phone and answers questions concerning the menu and restaurant.
• Interacts with guests as they arrive and as they leave the restaurant to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Performs other duties as directed.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience in a high volume, upscale restaurant preferred but not required
• Previous customer service experience strongly preferred
• Possesses and exhibits the drive to provide exceptional service.
• Full time hoursand morning availability required
• [AM] availability required
• Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours; bend, push, pull; lift 30 lbs.
• Proficient or ability to learn computer skills including POS systems, OpenTable, Word and Excel.
• Positive and enthusiastic attitude
