Job summary

Wendover Art Group is seeking a Signage Consultant to join our team. This role sits at the intersection of design, hospitality, architecture, regulation, and manufacturing to translate client vision into compelling and compliant signage programs.

You will guide projects from early conversations to final execution, interpreting plans and regulations, shaping materials and typography, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated signage solutions for upscale environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in signage, environmental graphic design, wayfinding, architecture, interior design, hospitality design, or related field.
• Strong understanding of signage planning, programming, placement, and wayfinding principles.
• Experience with hospitality projects and guest experience impact.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, floor plans, elevations.
• Working knowledge of ADA and accessibility requirements, life-safety signage, codes.
• Strong aesthetic judgment for typography, materials, finishes, color, and design integration.
• Balance creative vision with regulatory, functional, and technical requirements.
• Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage complex signage packages.
• Collaborative problem solver across teams.
• Curious and proactive about materials, fabrication, and evolving regulations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the signage expert, understanding client vision, brand, and project requirements.
• Translate needs into comprehensive signage packages with types, quantities, messaging, placement, materials, and finishes.
• Read architectural plans, elevations, and project docs to identify signage opportunities and requirements.
• Develop signage and wayfinding strategies for hotels, resorts, restaurants, and multifamily environments.
• Determine signage placement based on guest flow, sightlines, accessibility, and design intent.
• Apply ADA, accessibility, and life-safety knowledge throughout project development.
• Contribute strong aesthetic perspective to typography, materials, finishes, and illumination.
• Collaborate with clients and designers to ensure signage feels integrated into design language.
• Present recommendations and guide clients toward solutions, not just requests.
• Identify gaps or conflicts in plans and develop proactive solutions.
• Work closely with Creative, Industrial Design, Project Management, Production, and Quality teams.
• Build knowledge of Wendover’s materials, construction methods, and manufacturing processes.
• Maintain engagement through project lifecycle to align vision, compliance, manufacturability, and execution.
