Job summary

Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC is seeking a Security Officer 1 to safeguard guests, employees, and estate assets while delivering world-class guest service. The role encompasses monitoring access, responding to incidents, and supporting security operations across assigned locations.

The starting pay range is $17.09/hour with a 20-29 hour weekly schedule, commonly 8am-6pm or 1pm-11pm. Requirements include being at least 19, a valid NC driver’s license, a high school diploma, AED/CPR/First Aid

Qualifications

• Must be at least 19 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma required; AED/CPR and First Aid certification helpful.
• At least one year of guest services, safety, security, or related experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to write reports in standard English.
• Ability to evaluate situations, exercise good judgment, and work independently or in a team.
• Must be proactive, able to handle multiple guest/employee situations professionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional assistance to guests, employees, and vendors in a courteous manner.
• Deliver security and emergency response services for estates and events.
• Support safety and operational needs across the estate.
• Maintain access control for collections, secured buildings, restricted areas, and assets.
• Monitor assigned areas to identify and address potential safety or security concerns.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and requests for assistance.
• Uphold company policies and safety standards at all times.
• Provide general support to leadership and the Security Department.
