Position Overview:
The FOH Hospitality Manager is the heartbeat of our guest experience. As an experienced leader with a deep understanding of hospitality, you will be responsible for ensuring that each guest enjoys exceptional service from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. You’ll be a hands-on leader who leads by example, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork while managing the daily operations of the front-of-house team. Your leadership will drive the guest experience, while also optimizing operational efficiency and team performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Guest Experience Excellence:
- Lead the front-of-house team in delivering an extraordinary guest experience with an emphasis on personalized service and hospitality.
- Ensure each guest feels welcomed, valued, and cared for by maintaining a high standard of service, attention to detail, and responsiveness to guest needs.
- Actively engage with guests, responding to feedback, resolving concerns, and ensuring satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with regular guests, offering personalized touches that enhance guest loyalty.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse FOH team to deliver exceptional service through training and development.
- Recruit, train, and onboard new team members, ensuring they are aligned with our service philosophy and hospitality standards.
- Provide ongoing training and development to ensure your team is knowledgeable about the menu, specials, and service techniques.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and career growth.
3. Operational Efficiency & Service Flow:
- Oversee daily FOH operations, ensuring smooth, seamless service during peak and off-peak hours.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure timely and efficient food and beverage delivery.
- Monitor and adjust seating arrangements, reservations, and wait times to optimize service flow and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure that service standards are consistently met or exceeded, from greeting guests to managing payments.
4. Quality Control & Standards:
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and overall ambiance of the dining area, ensuring it aligns with the restaurant’s high standards.
- Supervise table settings, decor, and overall dining room atmosphere to ensure it meets brand standards.
- Conduct regular walkthroughs of the restaurant to ensure that the guest experience is consistently top-notch.
5. Conflict Resolution & Customer Relations:
- Handle guest complaints, concerns, or requests with tact, professionalism, and empathy, aiming for swift and satisfactory resolutions.
- Leverage your experience to proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they affect the guest experience.
- Foster an environment where feedback is valued and actively used to improve both service and operations.
6. Event & Special Occasion Management:
- Oversee and coordinate special events, private parties, and group bookings to ensure flawless execution.
- Work with guests to accommodate special requests, dietary restrictions, and event-specific needs, ensuring every detail is covered.
- Ensure the FOH team is prepared for high-volume days, managing reservations and event timelines efficiently.
7. Reporting & Administrative Duties:
- Manage FOH financials, including daily cash handling, tips, and ensuring proper closing procedures are followed.
- Assist with scheduling and labor cost management, optimizing the team’s schedule based on forecasted demand and business needs.
- Provide management with detailed reports on FOH performance, including guest feedback, staffing levels, and service issues.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven Experience:Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a management or supervisory role in a high-volume, casual and/or entertainment restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Fun first!! – Driving guest and team member experiences through driving fun!
- Exceptional Leadership:Ability to lead by example, inspire a team, and cultivate a positive and professional work environment.
- Guest-Focused:Deep passion for hospitality, with the ability to anticipate and meet guests’ needs, turning ordinary moments into extraordinary experiences.
- Strong Communication:Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both with guests and team members.
- Problem-Solving Skills:Ability to think on your feet, resolve conflicts, and manage high-pressure situations with a calm and positive attitude.
- Organized & Detail-Oriented:Strong multitasking and organizational abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Financial Acumen:Experience with Toast POS systems, cash handling, labor cost management, and other financial aspects of FOH operations.
- Restaurant 365, Hotschedules, Open Table and Tripleseat experience is preferred!
- Flexibility:Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the restaurant's needs.
- Food & Beverage Knowledge:Thorough understanding of food and beverage offerings, including wine, spirits, and cocktails, as well as food safety and hygiene standards.
