Highgate Hotels is offering a Summer 2027 Intern - Human Resources in San Francisco. This paid internship provides hands-on HR experience, supporting recruitment, onboarding, records, and employee engagement in a hospitality setting.

Ideal candidates are pursuing degrees in HR or Hospitality with strong communication and organizational skills, and a customer-service mindset for a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related degree program preferred.
• Strong interest in hotel operations, hospitality leadership, guest service, and career growth within the hotel industry.
• Previous hotel, customer service, retail, or campus leadership experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Professional demeanor with a positive and service-oriented attitude.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Support the HR team with day-to-day Human Resources operations and administrative tasks.
• Assist with recruitment, interview scheduling, candidate communication, and onboarding activities.
• Help maintain accurate employee records and HR systems.
• Support employee engagement initiatives, events, and recognition programs.
• Partner with hotel leadership and HR teams to support employee needs and initiatives.
• Gain exposure to key HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, and performance management.
• Demonstrate a warm, professional, and service-focused attitude with guests, associates, and leadership.
• Follow all hotel policies, brand standards, safety procedures, confidentiality expectations, and grooming standards.
• Learn and contribute in a fast-paced hospitality environment while developing valuable professional skills.
