Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels in Columbus seeks an Accounting Clerk to support daily accounting and finance operations. You’ll handle data entry, reconciliations, invoice processing, reporting, and operational accounting tasks that keep hotel operations running smoothly behind the scenes.

If you’re detail-oriented and organized, you’ll work with hotel finance teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency, contributing to timely month-end closings and reliable financial records.

Qualifications

• Previous accounting, bookkeeping, administrative, hospitality finance, hotel operations, or office support experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and operational accounting processes preferred.
• Experience using Excel, Microsoft Office, accounting software, PMS platforms, or financial reporting systems preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with a professional and dependable attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support daily accounting operations including invoice processing, data entry, filing, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial record maintenance.
• Assist with preparing reports, spreadsheets, operational documentation, and accounting records accurately and efficiently.
• Review invoices, receipts, expense reports, and financial transactions for accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
• Support cash handling processes, deposits, billing updates, account tracking, and operational finance activities as needed.
• Maintain organized accounting files, records, audit documentation, and operational financial systems.
• Assist with month-end close processes, reconciliations, operational reporting, and financial deadlines.
• Partner closely with Finance leadership and hotel departments to support operational accuracy and smooth financial processes.
• Respond professionally to vendor inquiries, billing questions, and internal operational requests.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling financial and employee information.
• Support audits, inventory reviews, payroll support, purchasing documentation, and additional accounting projects as needed.
• Help foster a collaborative, organized, and business-focused culture aligned with Sonesta’s People People philosophy.
