Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Atlantic City is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead all administrative, financial and operating aspects of the hotel’s engineering division. You will oversee the safe and profitable operation of the facility, manage budgets, and drive maintenance programs to ensure peak performance and guest satisfaction.

The role requires extensive facilities management experience in hospitality, with licensing as required by local codes.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressive facilities management experience in a hotel or related field, or a 4-year degree with at least 1 year of related management experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Stationary Engineer’s license if required by local code.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations and general maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train Engineering staff in customer service and standard procedures.
• Create and manage annual department budgets and financial forecasts.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for hotel systems.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and safety standards.
• Oversee energy conservation initiatives and life safety equipment inspections.
• Coordinate with departments on repairs, renovations and vendor contracts.
