Job summary

Hyatt Regency Houston Downtown seeks a dedicated Dishwasher to support both front and back of house operations. You will wash dishes, keep kitchen areas clean, stock supplies, and help uphold sanitation standards to ensure guest satisfaction.

Teamwork and clear communication are essential as you interact with colleagues and participate in safety procedures. This position offers full-time hours and restaurant-specific benefits.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months related experience in hospitality or service industry
• Ability to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or guests

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos and verbal instruction
• Bus dining room and patio. Keep tables clear of dishes and food remnants
• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand
• Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas
• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition
• Stock supplies such as food and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and salad bars
• Sweep and scrub floors
• Clean garbage cans with water or steam
• Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas
• Assist in unloading deliveries (food and supplies)
• Ensure open lines of communication via email, logbooks, meetings, etc., to ensure all needs of the restaurant are met
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area
• Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition
• Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property
• Keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements
• Attend relevant meetings
