Job summary

The Hilltop at Blue River is seeking a Hospitality Aide to support the Activities Team in delivering engaging recreation programs for residents. This role emphasizes energy, fun, and helping residents enjoy daily life within a caring long-term care setting.

Shifts available from 6am-2pm or 11am-7pm; entry requires a high school diploma, and certification is preferred. Experience in long-term care and coordinating social activities is valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Activities Certification is preferred.
• One-year experience working in long term care is required or preferred.
• One year experience conducting social/recreational programs within the past five years is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the development and delivery of activity/recreational programs to promote residents’ opportunities for engaging in normal life enhancement pursuits and to increase/maintain functioning levels.
• Assists in ensuring all residents attend regular activities.
• Ensures residents have ice and cold water regularly throughout the day.
• Assists in ensuring rooms are ready for new admits and transfers.
• Encourages resident participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, community outings, religious, educational, and recreational activities.
• Assists in completing activity documentation as trained and in conjunction with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Submits supplies list to Activity/Recreation Director and receipts for activity expenditures.
• Maintains precautions/limitations list on each resident.
• Assists activity director in organizing and supervising volunteers.
• Assists with Resident Council Meetings when necessary.
• Assists in planning community activities with residents, staff and families.
• Prepares a monthly calendar of activity/recreational programs for posting in the center.

Responsible for supporting the efforts of the Activities Team in the organizing, and implementing of activity/recreational services to address the individualized needs and interests of the residents. We are looking for someone who has a great energy and likes to have fun with our residents!

Hospitality Aides help keep our facility looking beautiful and our residents happy! We need another smiling face to join our team!

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Activities Certification, preferred.
• One-year experience working in long term care.
• One years of experience conducting social/recreational programs within the past five years, preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists in the development and delivery of activity/recreational programs to promote the residents’ opportunities for engaging in normal life enhancement pursuits and to increase and/or maintain functioning levels.
• Assists in ensuring all residents are able to attend regular smoke times
• Ensures residents have ice and cold water regularly throughout the day
• Assists in ensuring rooms are ready for new admits and that room transfers are completed quickly and without complaint
• Encourages resident participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, community outings, religious activities, intellectual/educational activities, community/center service activities, recreational activities, etc.
• Assists in completing activity documentation, when needed, if trained and in conjunction with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Submits supplies list to Activity/Recreation Director and submits receipts for activity expenditures.
• Maintains precautions/limitations list on each resident.
• Assists Activity/Recreation Director in the organization and supervision of the volunteer program including recruiting and training volunteers.
• Assists with Resident Council Meetings when necessary.
• Assists in planning community activities that jointly include the community, staff, families and residents.
• Assists in the completion of a monthly calendar of available activity/recreational programs and posts it in the center.
