Job summary

The Hilltop at Blue River is seeking a Hospitality Aide to support the Activities Team in planning and delivering recreational services for residents. We value energy, positivity, and a fun attitude to enhance resident well-being.

Responsibilities include developing activity programs, coordinating group and individual activities, keeping residents engaged, and assisting with daily operations and documentation. This role offers daytime shifts and opportunities to contribute to a caring community.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of experience working in long term care.
• One year of experience conducting social/recreational programs (past five years) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and delivering activity programs to engage residents.
• Help ensure residents attend regular activities and stay engaged.
• Provide ice water and refreshments throughout the day.
• Prepare rooms for new admissions and transfers quickly and smoothly.
• Encourage participation in arts, crafts, outings, religious, educational, and community activities.
• Assist with activity documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain resident safety notes and track supplies and expenses.
• Support the volunteer program and recruit/train volunteers.
• Assist with Resident Council meetings as needed.
• Help plan monthly activity calendars and post them in the center.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Shifts: 6am-2pm or 11am-7pm

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Responsible for supporting the efforts of the Activities Team in the organizing, and implementing of activity/recreational services to address the individualized needs and interests of the residents. We are looking for someone who has a great energy and likes to have fun with our residents!

Hospitality Aides help keep our facility looking beautiful and our residents happy! We need another smiling face to join our team!

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Activities Certification, preferred.
• One-year experience working in long term care.
• One years of experience conducting social/recreational programs within the past five years, preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists in the development and delivery of activity/recreational programs to promote the residents’ opportunities for engaging in normal life enhancement pursuits and to increase and/or maintain functioning levels.
• Assists in ensuring all residents are able to attend regular smoke times
• Ensures residents have ice and cold water regularly throughout the day
• Assists in ensuring rooms are ready for new admits and that room transfers are completed quickly and without complaint
• Encourages resident participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, community outings, religious activities, intellectual/educational activities, community/center service activities, recreational activities, etc.
• Assists in completing activity documentation, when needed, if trained and in conjunction with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Submits supplies list to Activity/Recreation Director and submits receipts for activity expenditures.
• Maintains precautions/limitations list on each resident.
• Assists Activity/Recreation Director in the organization and supervision of the volunteer program including recruiting and training volunteers.
• Assists with Resident Council Meetings when necessary.
• Assists in planning community activities that jointly include the community, staff, families and residents.
• Assists in the completion of a monthly calendar of available activity/recreational programs and posts it in the center.
• Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or assigned at any time with or without notice.
