Job summary

Greenhills Center for Rehabilitation and Healing is seeking an Activity Assistant to help plan, organize, and implement resident activity programs. You will maintain engaging activities tailored to health care plans and coordinate with departments to ensure well-rounded programming.

The role requires a positive attitude, teamwork, and the ability to work every weekend. Prior experience is preferred, with emphasis on compassionate, patient-centered care in a rehabilitation setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and implement group and individual activities based on residents’ health care plans.
• Assist in community planning for resident and family needs per Director of Recreation.
• Balance recreational activities based on residents’ demographics.
• Coordinate activity schedules with other departments.
• Communicate programs to residents, families, volunteers and staff.
• Decorate monthly bulletin boards with future activities/themes.
• Assist in transporting residents between activity areas.
• Lead group/1:1 activities aligned with residents’ preferences.
• Assist residents with mail and documentation completion.
• Organize and participate in community outings.

The primary purpose of the Activity Assistant position is to assist in planning, organizing, developing, and implementing the resident activity programs of the center.

Job Description

• Possess a positive attitude, high energy, creativity, teamwork, and willingness to learn.
• Assist in planning, organizing and implementing group and individual activities based on residents’ individual needs as identified in residents’ health care plans.
• Assist in community planning related to the interests of the facility and the services and needs of the resident and family as directed by the Director of Recreation.
• Assist in maintaining a balance of recreational activities based on the particular demographics of the residents.
• Assist in coordination of activity schedules with other departments as necessary.
• Communicate residents’ programs to residents, residents’ families, volunteers, and facility staff.
• Decorates monthly bulletin boards indicating future activities, holiday themes, and/or picture review of past activities.
• Assists in transporting residents within the center from one area of activity to another.
• Facilitate group/1:1 activities that are dignifying and geared toward residents' preferences to ensure maximum involvement.
• Assist with residents with mail.
• Assist with the competition of documentation.
• Assist with community outings.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a High School Diploma or GED
• Must be able to work every weekend.
• Experience is preferred.
