Job summary

The Adolphus Group in Dallas is seeking an experienced Assistant Accounting Manager to oversee month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and daily financial balancing within our hospitality operations.

The role partners with hotel department heads, leads accounting staff, reviews income audits, processes invoices, and supports budgeting and forecasting to drive financial performance and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Hotel or Hospitality accounting experience required.
• Experience in an Assistant Accounting Manager or similar leadership role preferred.
• Strong understanding of month-end close and balance sheet reconciliation processes.
• Experience with daily revenue balancing, weekly financial review, and income audit support.
• Ability to lead accounting staff and work effectively across departments.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication skills to support both accounting and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Support timely month-end close process.
• Prepare and post month end entries to close in the allowed time.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and follow up on reconciling items.
• Complete daily and weekly financial balancing to ensure accuracy.
• Review income audit reports and resolve discrepancies.
• Support hotel department heads with financial reporting and expense reviews.
• Lead and coordinate day-to-day work of the accounting staff.
• Assist with monthly financial statement review with the Director of Finance.
• Process invoices per company policy.
• Reconcile vendor statements and assist with accounts payable follow-up.
• Maintain organized accounting records and support reporting needs.
