Job summary

University of Delaware seeks an Academic Advisor II in Hospitality Business Management to guide freshman through seniors in degree planning, advising and experiential learning opportunities. The role involves hands-on support, collaboration with Lerner College staff and active participation in orientation and recruitment events.

The advisor will monitor progress, perform degree audits, and coordinate with Lerner Career Services to promote professional development and career readiness initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and three years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Degree in student personnel, college counseling or other related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise undergraduate students from matriculation through graduation, including degree requirements, policies, registration, and internships.
• Monitor academic progress and provide early intervention guidance to support retention and degree completion.
• Analyze KPIs related to student engagement, retention and outcomes, and share findings with leadership.
• Represent the Hospitality department at university events to engage prospective students and families.
• Coordinate logistics for speaker series and assist with recruitment and outreach activities.
• Perform senior checks, review transcripts, and communicate degree audits and substitutions to students.
