AMG Specialty Hospital - Albuquerque is seeking a highly skilled Part Time Hospitalist for weekends to join our Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) team. You will provide comprehensive medical care to medically complex patients requiring extended acute-care hospitalization.

The Hospitalist will lead clinical oversight, perform evaluations, and collaborate with nursing, therapy, pharmacy, nutrition, and case management to maintain high-quality patient outcomes.

Formación

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine or Pulmonary/Critical Care.
• Current, unrestricted state medical license.
• Current DEA registration.
• Eligible for hospital medical staff privileges.
• Hospital-based critical care SA experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with ventilator management and complex medical conditions is valued.

Responsabilidades

• Provide comprehensive medical management for medically complex LTAC patients.
• Perform initial hospital evaluations, daily progress assessments, and discharge evaluations.
• Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans with nursing, respiratory therapy, rehabilitation, pharmacy, nutrition, case management, and other team members.
• Manage patients with complex conditions including prolonged ventilation and sepsis recovery.
• Provide clinical oversight during changes in patient condition and determine interventions or transfers as indicated.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to promote safe, efficient progression of care.
• Maintain timely, accurate medical documentation supporting the patient’s condition and ongoing LTAC needs.
• Engage in quality improvement and patient safety activities; support a culture of clinical excellence.

The AMG Specialty Hospital – Albuquerque Hospitalist plays acritical role in managing patients with complex medical conditions who are nolonger appropriate for short-term acute care but continue to require extendedacute hospital care, close physician oversight, and multidisciplinary care.

Position Responsibilities

• Providecomprehensive medical management for medically complex LTAC patients.
• Performinitial hospital evaluations, daily progress assessments, and dischargeevaluations.
• Developand oversee individualized treatment plans in collaboration with nursing,respiratory therapy, rehabilitation, pharmacy, nutrition, case management,and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Managepatients with complex conditions, including:
• Prolongedmechanical ventilation and ventilator weaning
• Acuteand chronic respiratory failure
• Severeinfections and sepsis recovery
• Complexwounds and wound infections
• Multiplecomorbidities and multisystem disease
• Renalfailure and patients requiring dialysis
• Neurologicand neuromuscular conditions
• Post-surgicalcomplications and recovery
• Complexmedication and nutritional management
• Provideclinical oversight during changes in patient condition and determineappropriate interventions or transfers when indicated.
• Participatein interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with the care team topromote safe, efficient progression of care.
• Identifybarriers to recovery and discharge and actively participate inlength-of-stay and discharge planning.
• Communicateeffectively with patients, families, referring physicians, consultants,and members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Maintaintimely, accurate, and complete medical documentation supporting thepatient's clinical condition, treatment plan, and ongoing need forLTAC-level care.
• Participatein quality improvement, patient safety, peer review, and other medicalstaff activities as appropriate.
• Supporta culture focused on clinical excellence, patient outcomes, appropriateresource utilization, and compassionate care.
