Killeen, Texas - Nocturnist Hospital Medicine Physician Opportunity
Clinical Role:
- Permanent job opening for a nocturnist position requiring overnight shifts.
- Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours.
- Work alongside three hospitalist physicians, one nocturnist, a clinical performance nurse, and one swing APP.
- Qualifications include internal or family medicine board certification and an active medical license or eligibility to obtain one in Texas.
- Flexible scheduling with most employees working a seven-on, seven-off schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee inpatient care across five units: two medical-surgical, one progressive care, one cardiac/step-down, and one ICU staffed with a dedicated critical care physician with tele-ICU capabilities.
- Support a Level 3 trauma center, stroke center, and comprehensive cardiac center.
- Handle new admissions, oversee inpatient care, and supervise the swing APP.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to ensure patient safety and resource allocation.
- Engage in hospital committees such as sepsis, readmission, peer review, credentialing, and glycemic control.
- Mentor PA students during clinical rotations and participate in health equity projects led by the hospital’s quality department.
