Job summary

AMN Healthcare seeks a Hospitalist Physician for locum tenens support in Vermont. The assignment involves 12-hour day shifts with weekend coverage, totaling 7–10 shifts per month, starting November 1, 2026.

You will work in an inpatient hospital-based setting handling adult inpatient and observation patients. The ideal candidate is board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with hospitalist experience, holds an active Vermont license (or willing to obtain one), and possesses BLS and

Qualifications

• Board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with hospitalist experience.
• Active Vermont license or willingness to obtain one.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Comfortable with 12-hour day shifts and weekend coverage.
• Experience with adult inpatient and observation patients; ventilator management preferred.
• Cerner CommunityWorks EMR experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide 12-hour day shifts (7 a.m.–7 p.m.) with weekend coverage.
• Care for adult inpatient and observation patients in a hospital setting.
• Respond to codes and rapid response events as needed.
• Assist with ventilator management and step-down patient care (preferred).
• Coordinate credentialing for temporary privileges (approx. 90 days).

This facility is seeking a Hospitalist Physician for locum tenens support as they look to fill a current need.

Details and requirements for this opportunity:

Schedule: 7–10 shifts per month; 12-hour day shifts, 7 a.m.–7 p.m. Weekend coverage expected. Ongoing from October 2026.

Practice Setting: Inpatient hospital-based

Types of Cases: Adult inpatient and observation patients; must be comfortable responding to codes and rapid response events. Ventilator management and step‑down patient experience preferred.

Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 90 days; temporary privileges available.

Electronic Medical Record: Cerner Community Works

Certifications Required: Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support; Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with hospitalist experience.

Licensure Required: Active Vermont license or willing to obtain
