Job summary

AMN Healthcare is seeking a Hospitalist Physician for locum tenens coverage in Vermont, with 12-hour day shifts (7 a.m.–7 p.m.) and weekend coverage. The position requires board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with hospitalist experience and Vermont licensure or the ability to obtain it.

Start date is 11/1/2026, with 90-day credentialing and Cerner Community Works. Schedule: 7–10 shifts per month; inpatient hospitalist role with adult and observation care, including

Qualifications

• Board-certified in internal or family medicine with hospitalist experience.
• Active Vermont license or ability to obtain license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to codes and rapid response events for inpatient and observation patients.
• Manage adult inpatient and observation cases on a 12-hour shift basis.
• Provide ventilator management when needed and coordinate with ICU as required.

This facility is seeking a Hospitalist Physician for locum tenens support as they look to fill a current need.

Details and requirements for this opportunity:

Schedule: 7–10 shifts per month; 12-hour day shifts, 7 a.m.–7 p.m. Weekend coverage expected. Ongoing from October 2026.

Practice Setting: Inpatient hospital-based

Types of Cases: Adult inpatient and observation patients; must be comfortable responding to codes and rapid response events. Ventilator management and step-down patient experience preferred.

Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 90 days; temporary privileges available.

Electronic Medical Record: Cerner Community Works

Certifications Required: Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support; Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with hospitalist experience.

Licensure Required: Active Vermont license or willing to obtain
