Ascension Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD seeks a physician leader to shape the future of the Department of Medicine. This role blends clinical practice with strategic oversight in a large nonprofit health system.

The position offers an approximate 25% administrative component, opportunities for subspecialty collaboration, and a pathway to board certification leadership within a nationally connected network.

Qualifications

• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Maryland Board of Physicians obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Optometry (OD) or Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) required.

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with subspecialty Division Chiefs to ensure operational excellence, staffing, and seamless delivery of care across divisions and residency program.
• Drive strategic recruitment and retention initiatives across the Department of Medicine and its 14 subspecialties to build a stable clinical team.
• Build strong relationships with the C-suite and hospital administration to align departmental operations with organizational policies and budgets.
• Monitor and enhance clinical performance, promote evidence-based practices, and introduce new medical technologies for patient outcomes.
• Employed position within a nonprofit health system.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
• Gastroenterology fellowship highly preferred; other subspecialties or strong internal medicine background welcomed.
• Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration.
