Job summary

Ascension Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a physician to join its closed ICU team. This Employed position supports a dedicated group of physicians and APPs, offering mentorship, stable environment, and opportunities to provide high-quality critical care in a Level III trauma hospital.

You will deliver comprehensive critical care through daily bedside rounds, complex catheter placements, and airway management, ensuring ethical and psychosocial patient needs are addressed.

Qualifications

  • MD/DO degree required.
  • Maryland medical license required or transfer in process.
  • Fellowship in Critical Care or Pulmonary/Critical Care preferred.
  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Critical Care Medicine desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive critical care in a closed ICU setting.
  • Lead daily bedside rounds and system-wide evaluations.
  • Perform advanced bedside procedures and manage complex cases.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for patient care.

How you'll make an impact in this role

  • Join an established team of 5 physicians and 6 APPs
  • Practice setting: Closed ICU
  • Employed position within a nonprofit health system
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Critical Care Medicine
  • Fellowship training in Critical Care or Pulmonary/Critical Care
  • Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration
  • Deliver comprehensive critical care through daily bedside rounds and total-system evaluations, ensuring every clinical, psycho-social, and ethical need of the patient is addressed
  • Perform life‑saving interventions and advanced bedside procedures, including complex catheter placements and airway management, to stabilize and support patients in their most vulnerable moments

What minimum qualifications you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Maryland Board of Physicians obtained prior to hire date or
    job transfer date required.
  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
