Job summary

BAS HealthCare is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for a full-time inpatient hospitalist position at a major teaching hospital in Hartford, CT. The role involves triaging, admitting, rounding, and discharging patients, with a focus on adapting plans to evolving clinical status.

EPIC is used for clinical and informatics support, and there is a strong emphasis on mentorship, orientation, and professional development through the Office of Advanced Practice.

Qualifications

• Open to Physician Assistants (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioners (NP) for inpatient hospitalist role.
• Must have or be eligible for an unrestricted CT medical license.
• Full-time inpatient hospitalist position with no call requirements on days.
• Experience in inpatient care and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is favored.

Responsibilities

• Triage, admit, round, discharge patients and monitor changes in clinical status.
• Perform routine physical examinations and develop medical/educational/psychosocial treatment plans.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists and other health team members as needed.
• Deliver appropriate treatments within scope of practice and consult when necessary.

Job Details:

• Open to Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners (APRN) for a full‑time inpatient hospitalist role
• Provide full‑spectrum inpatient care including triaging, admitting, rounding, discharging, and addressing changes in clinical status
• Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans
• Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs including referrals to specialists and other health team members
• Provide appropriate treatment for problems within scope of practice and refer appropriately when needed
• Days only schedule with no call required
• New graduates are welcome to apply
• Comprehensive orientation provided by experienced Physician and Advanced Practice Hospitalists
• Utilize EPIC for state‑of‑the‑art clinical and informatics technology to promote improved patient outcomes
