Job Overview

Stamford Health is seeking a full‑time Nocturnist to join the team at Stamford Hospital, a 305‑bed teaching community hospital affiliated with Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.

The Nocturnist will supervise, consult, and teach residents in the Department of Medicine and Family Practice; provide medical consultation to Surgery and OB/GYN residents; and cover emergency inpatient care for medical patients on the non‑teaching medical service.

Schedule and Setting

• Night shifts with 2‑3 other nocturnists.
• Hospital closed ICU; exclusively inpatient primary care service (general floors and critical care areas).
• Average five admissions per night per physician.
• 7‑days on, 7‑days off schedule.

Qualifications

• MD or DO license; CT medical license or intent to obtain.
• Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Internal Medicine required; Internal Medicine preferred.
• Prior Family Practice and inpatient experience required.
• Excellent communication, critical‑care, and computer skills.
