Job summary

Innovative Medical Solutions, in partnership with Mission Community Hospital, seeks a Hospitalist for a 7 on / 7 off schedule in California. The role provides comprehensive hospital care and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team in a high-volume setting.

The selected candidate will deliver patient-centered care and contribute to quality initiatives. The position offers a competitive salary ($310,000–$345,000) with full health/dental/vision insurance, retirement plan, generous PTO, CME

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• California medical license or eligibility to obtain one prior to starting.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong clinical skills with the ability to manage complex patient cases and make sound clinical decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients.
• Conduct patient assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Document accurately in the EMR per hospital policies.
• Communicate with patients and families; provide education on conditions and discharge instructions.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and infection control efforts.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to facilitate admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Mentor medical students, residents, or advanced practice providers as needed.

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospitalist to join our team at Mission Community Hospital. This full-time position operates on a 7 on / 7 off schedule, providing an excellent work-life balance. The Hospitalist will deliver comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history-taking and physical examinations, to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Coordinate care with specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and effective patient care.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, hospital committees, and infection control efforts to enhance patient care and safety.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to facilitate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to medical students, residents, or advanced practice providers as needed.

Required Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.

• Valid California medical license or eligibility to obtain one prior to starting.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a Hospitalist or in a similar acute care setting.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems for patient documentation and management.
• Familiarity with clinical decision support tools and evidence-based guidelines.
