Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Materials Handler to process and distribute supplies and equipment across hospital departments. You will receive, inspect, inventory and deliver items while maintaining precise logs and par levels.

Preferred candidates have knowledge of inventory processes and a valid driver’s license, with forklift certification within 30 days of hire. The role requires flexibility and travel between facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in using computers, software and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel between facilities and work a flexible schedule (including weekends/holidays).

Responsibilities

• Maintains inventory and cleanliness in storeroom and par locations.
• Ensures supplies are accurately charged when removing from inventory.
• Organizes delivery carts by destination and delivers per receiving reports.
• Maintains delivery logs for non-P.O. deliveries and obtains signatures on deliveries.
• Inspects and receives deliveries for hospital, clinic and admin areas.
• Performs cycle counts and complete end-of-year inventories.
• Identifies and addresses internal and external customer needs.
• Picks up and delivers supplies, equipment, mail, pharmaceuticals and related materials to/from campus and offsite locations.
