Job summary
Trinity Health in Michigan seeks a part-time Steam Plant Operator to maintain an uninterrupted steam supply for St Joseph Mercy Hospital. You will start, operate, and monitor the chilled water system, diesel generators, fire pumps, and water treatment, ensuring compliance with regulations and METASYS alarm handling.
The role requires high-pressure boiler and refrigeration licenses, plus experience in large central plants.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in Large Central Heating and Chilled Water Plant.
- Boiler license and refrigeration licenses as listed.
- EPA refrigerant certification required.
Responsibilities
- Start/Stop Boilers to maintain steam supply.
- Operate and monitor chilled water system.
- Monitor diesel generators for emergency power.
- Monitor Fire Pumps and fuel storage tanks.
- Test and treat boiler, condensate, and chilled water.
- Inspect plant machinery and perform repairs as needed.
- Comply with regulatory agencies.
- Monitor Metasys alarm system and respond.
- Maintain Medical Air and Control Air compressors.
