Job summary

Nashville General Hospital is seeking a Stationary Engineer to ensure safe, reliable operation of essential hospital utility and building systems. The role emphasizes maintaining boilers, chillers, HVAC, BAS, and emergency power to support 24/7 patient care.

Ideal candidates have 9–14 years in healthcare facilities or similar environments, EPA refrigeration certification, and a strong preventive maintenance mindset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 9–14 years of progressively responsible experience preferred.
• Healthcare facilities experience strongly preferred.
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required.
• Boiler Operator License preferred or able to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot and repair critical hospital infrastructure and mechanical systems.
• Monitor temperatures, pressures, flows and alarm status; perform rounds and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot complex facility problems; escalate when needed.
• Safely perform repairs and tests within established procedures.
• Maintain 24/7 hospital operations and patient care continuity.
