CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA seeks a Speech Pathologist to assess, plan, and implement care for patients from pediatric to geriatric ages.

You will work under the Director of Physical Therapy and collaborate with physicians, social services, and rehab staff to improve communication, cognition, and swallowing abilities. The ideal candidate has a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, active Louisiana SLP license, and relevant certifications.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
• English required; bilingual preferred.

Aufgaben

• Gathers pertinent data from chart and discusses with physician as necessary.
• Independently assess all patient types assigned.
• Develops and implements treatment plans addressing communication, cognition and swallowing.
• Reassesses progress regularly per department policy, or when need arises.
• Identifies appropriate equipment and refers to social services and/or vendors.
• Able to assess vent-dependent patients with minimal assistance.
• Able to assess voice and fluency cases with some assistance.
• Able to independently design a treatment plan to address problems and discharge needs.
• Delivers effective treatment focused on rehab of communication, cognition and/or swallowing disorders.
• Applies research-based treatments and innovative approaches to daily treatment.
