Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, is seeking a dynamic Sous Chef in Lakeland, FL to lead the Culinary Department at a healthcare facility. You will supervise staff, assist in preparation and cooking, help develop daily menus, and work with the Executive Chef on menu planning and ordering.

This role offers exposure to patient and cafeteria services, with opportunities to implement cost controls, craft new culinary programs, and coordinate with marketing.

Qualifications

• A.S. or equivalent experience.
• Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.
• Catering experience a plus.
• High-volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable.
• Institutional and batch cooking experiences helpful.
• Knowledge of food and catering trends with focus on quality, production, sanitation, and food cost controls.
• Experienced with computers; MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet.
• Willing to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities.
• ServSafe certified - highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Executive Chef with cost controls and expenditures for the account.
• Assists with planning and creating menus.
• Produces and executes catering events.
• Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team.
