Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, is seeking a hands-on Sous Chef to join a busy hospital kitchen and partner with the Executive Chef to deliver high-quality meals for patients and staff.

You will lead and develop kitchen staff, craft menus, manage inventory and costs, and ensure food safety in a high-volume healthcare setting. Experience in healthcare is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years culinary experience with leadership or training of kitchen staff
• High-volume food operation experience in restaurants, hotels, catering, or healthcare
• Ability to manage ordering, inventory, food costs, and sanitation
• Comfort using email and basic computer tools

Responsibilities

• Lead food preparation and service while maintaining high quality, flavor, and presentation
• Coach cooks and kitchen team across stations; set expectations and develop staff
• Collaborate with Executive Chef on menus, ordering, inventory, production, and new programs
• Monitor food and labor costs without compromising guest experience
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and emphasize daily food safety
• Step in to solve problems and support the team during peak periods
• Partner with the broader team to meet patients, visitors, and staff needs
