Job summary

Memorial Blood Centers in Minnesota is seeking a Hospital Services Associate to ensure blood component inventory for internal and external customers, while maintaining compliance with federal regulations and industry standards. The role involves about 75% hospital services and 25% driving deliveries.

Schedule: Mon-Wed, 7:00 am–2:30 pm. Requires high school diploma, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and 2 years driving or customer-service experience; competitive pay at $20.05/hour with comprehensive

• Liaise with hospital transfusion services to ensure correct orders.

Responsibilities

Summary:

This position assists in assuring adequate component inventory for internal and external customer needs. Assists in assuring compliance with federal regulations and industry standards. Provides outstanding customer service to internal and external customers. Approximately 75% of the job is spent in hospital services department and 25% of the job is driving and delivering orders.

Schedule:Mon - Wed: 7am - 2:30pm

Job Responsibilities:

1. Performing and overseeing daily Hospital Service tasks (HSRD-1 tasks)

• Hospital Orders:
• Consigning
• Shipping
• Packing
• Reconciliation
• Irradiation/modification

2. Performing timely driving functions

• Delivering hospital Transfusion Services blood component orders.
• Performing whole blood pick-ups from Collections Van/Mobiles/Fixed sites.
• Performing sample pick-ups for Reference Lab, Donor Testing, and Nat Lab.

3. Customer Service

• Responsible for daily interactions with our hospital customers. Daily telephone communications with the hospital Transfusion Services allows for correct orders and component shipments

4. Equipment Maintenance

• Maintains adequate knowledge of departmental equipment operation to monitor and troubleshoot problem situations with the Maintenance department and equipment support services.

5. Maintains Hospital Services vehicles, department supplies, required forms, and reports.

6. Maintains a working knowledge of federal regulations and industry standards for the storage, labeling, distribution and transport of blood component.

The hourly rate for this position is $20.05/hr.
