Job summary

Innovative Blood Resources in Duluth, MN is hiring a phlebotomist to support donor centers and mobile blood drives. You will screen donors, collect blood, provide pre/post donation care, and ensure proper documentation in a fast-paced environment.

The role offers a $2,500 sign-on bonus, a variable schedule (Mon-Fri with rotating weekends, some overnights), and a competitive benefits package including medical, vision, dental, PTO, sick days, and a 403(b) plan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Local travel; reliable transportation to/from work.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Full hand use and depth perception needed.
• Willingness to work a variety of shifts.
• Prefer: Phlebotomy, nursing assistant, medical assistant, EMT or related coursework.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document vitals of presenting donors to determine eligibility.
• Perform blood collection (phlebotomy) in accordance with policies and safety procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service and pre/post donation care as needed.
• Assist with the setup of community blood drives including loading/unloading of mobile units.
• Perform cleaning tasks, including equipment cleaning.
• Ensure accuracy, acceptability, and completeness of documentation to prevent loss of units.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings.

Responsibilities

Summary:

This position involves donor screening, customer service, and whole blood collection. All protocols are clearly documented and taught using inclusive and recurring training sessions. A phlebotomist in this position might work at a fixed donor center location or at various community sites via mobile blood drives and will work with a variety of donors each shift.

$2500 Sign on Bonus!

Location: To support area blood drives and donor centers around the Duluth area.

Schedule: Variable schedule - Monday - Friday with rotating weekends. May be scheduled between 6:00 a.m. -9:00 p.m as well as one or two overnights per week to support area blood drives.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assess and document vitals of presenting donors to determine eligibility.
• Perform blood collection (phlebotomy) in accordance with applicable policies and safety procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service and pre/post donation care as needed.
• Assist with the setup of community blood drives including the safe loading/unloading of mobile units.
• Perform cleaning tasks, including equipment cleaning.
• Ensure accuracy, acceptability, and completeness of documentation to prevent loss of units.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings.

The hourly rate for this position is $19.53 - $21.03/hr. (including applicable shift differentials)
