Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Security Officer I to protect patients, staff and visitors in a 24/7 hospital setting. You will patrol, respond to calls, secure valuables, monitor CCTV, and assist with investigations while maintaining de-escalation and crisis-intervention techniques.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• 1–2 years of MedStar security or 5–7 years related security experience.
• Valid State Driver's License required.
• MD/DC Special Police Commission preferred.
• CPR certification (AHA/Red Cross) within 90 days required.

Responsibilities

• Patrols facility and responds to emergencies and calls.
• Mentors and trains security staff; assists with shift supervision.
• Monitors CCTV and secures access; reports safety and law violations.
• Conducts investigations and prepares incident reports; maintains records.
