Job summary

McLean Hospital is seeking a dedicated Security Officer for weekend shifts to help maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. You will patrol assigned areas, enforce regulations, and report incidents with accuracy.

Qualified candidates have 3–5 years in security or related fields, strong interpersonal and writing skills, and the ability to de-escalate tense situations. This onsite role offers a supportive team and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice preferred; experience-in-lieu not accepted.
• 3-5 years of experience in hospital, security/police, emergency medical or customer services preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to de-escalate anxious or aggressive individuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and secure environment by enforcing hospital security regulations during patrols.
• Investigate complaints or potential criminal conduct and assist in restraining patients as necessary.
• Prepare and submit written incident reports; maintain logs and documentation.
• Dispatch using integrated security systems and coordinate with law enforcement as needed.
• Respond to medical emergencies and assist in protection of dignitaries; support workplace safety.
