Job summary

StartupNWA in Fayetteville, NC is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to safeguard a major medical center campus, monitor entrances and respond to emergencies.

You will de-escalate tense situations, patrol on foot, coordinate with police when needed, and document incidents clearly. Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED and at least one year of security experience; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; strong communication.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED, required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a security officer role.
• Ability to notice anything out of the ordinary and monitor for threats.
• Effective communication with hospital staff, patients, visitors, and law enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Monitor entrances and exits to prevent unauthorized access and screen visitors.
• Respond promptly to codes, alarms, incidents and emergencies and coordinate with emergency services as needed.
• Patrol on foot for extended periods and assist after-hours escorts as required.
• Document security incidents in detailed reports for management.
• Maintain a calm, safe environment and de-escalate tense situations.
