GRMC in Silver City, NM is seeking a Security Officer responsible for protecting assets, staff, patients and visitors. You will conduct patrols, monitor facilities, and respond to emergencies and alarms while maintaining confidentiality and high customer service standards.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, completion of GRMC security training, and relevant certifications; valid driver's license and basic computer skills are needed. Work is on-site with an emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Gila Regional Security in-house training completed.
• Healthcare Security Officer certification preferred; must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800 certifications within 1 year.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Hazardous waste management procedures training including emergency response within 90 days.

Mansioni

• Complete patrols of hospital buildings and grounds; prevent vandalism, theft, fire and disturbances.
• Check vehicles parked in restricted areas (fire zones, ambulance entrances, reserved spaces).
• Inspect exterior lighting and egress routes to emergency and fire entrances.
• Escort staff to/from parking areas and between buildings as requested.
• Interact with hospital staff across departments, with emphasis on Emergency Department.
• Respond to overhead pages and security alerts (Code events, Panic Button, etc.).
• Address security requests promptly based on priority.
• Respond to fires, disasters, and other hazards; assist Emergency Management.
• Coordinate with law enforcement when needed.
• Lock/unlock doors at prescribed times; lockdown procedures support.
• Maintain visibility and security presence throughout the facility.
• Write reports of unusual activity; maintain the Security Log.
• Provide customer service to staff, patients, visitors, volunteers and Providers.
• Protect confidentiality of hospital and patient information; effective communication of shift handoffs.
• Handle additional duties as assigned.
