Qualifications

• GA driver's license and current BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years experience in military, police, corrections, private security.
• Ability to work well with others and follow directions.
• Willingness to learn basic security procedures and documentation.
• Proficient handwriting and reporting.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, policies and procedures.
• Desirable training: CIT de-escalation, baton, firearms, hospital defensive tactics, taser.

Responsibilities

• Make routine and random tours of facility and grounds using established patrolling techniques and reporting all findings.
• Initiates investigations on security or risk management incidents and reports findings daily to the supervisor and coordinator.
• Initiates and participates in training drills and proper documentation of each completed according to NGHS policy/procedure as required by JCAHO, OSHA, NFPA, law or other regulatory agency.
• Attends staff meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
• Responds to emergencies and supports other officers and hospital staff as needed.
• Assists with access control and safety escorts to parking areas and facilities.
