Job summary

Chesapeake Regional Healthcare is seeking a Security Officer I to maintain a safe, secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff, and to protect hospital buildings and assets. The role requires patrols, incident reporting, and crisis de-escalation to support patient care.

Responsibilities include monitoring entrances, responding to alarms, coordinating with police, and documenting incidents. A high school diploma and 1+ year of security or law enforcement experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Must have one (1) or more years’ prior experience as a Law Enforcement Officer, Deputy Sheriff, Military Service, or Security Officer.

Responsibilities

• Protect staff, patients, and visitors from violent encounters.
• Patrol hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and trespass.
• Check parking decals and enforce restricted areas; issue violations as needed.
• Tour doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
• Question unauthorized persons and route or detain them.
• Respond to alarms and requests for service; document incidents.
