Job summary

Allied Universal, North America's leading security and facility services company, is seeking a part-time Security Officer for Allegheny Health Network Hospital in Pittsburgh. The role offers $18.50 per hour with shifts 3:00PM-11:00PM and 11:00PM-7:00AM, up to 30 hours weekly, weekends included.

Officers are paid weekly, uniforms and equipment are provided, and comprehensive benefits with paid training and career progression are offered.

Qualifications

• Prior work experience involving customer interactions.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Must be 18+ (21+ for armed roles) and pass background/drug tests.

Responsibilities

• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity
• Patrol on foot, bicycle, or via a vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individuals
• Orally and physically de-escalating individuals, as needed
• Inspect all security devices and fire control equipment
• Screen members, visitors, and client employees to expedite their admittance to the facility
• Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, or inclement weather with calm urgency
• May also include patient escort, patient watch, provide safety escort, assist and/or transport deceased to morgue
