Chesapeake Regional Healthcare is seeking a Security Officer I to maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. You will patrol facilities, respond to incidents, and document events with detailed case reports.

The role requires a HS diploma and 1+ year in security or law enforcement; prior hospital security experience is a plus. Work hours may vary to ensure 24/7 hospital safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year(s) prior experience as a Law Enforcement Officer, Deputy Sheriff, Military Service, or Security Officer.

Responsibilities

• Protect staff, patients, and visitors from violent encounters.
• Patrol hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
• Check parking decals and enforce restricted-area parking.
• Ensure doors, windows, and gates are secure and untampered with.
• Question unauthorized persons and route or detain them as needed.
• Coordinate with Chesapeake Police Department for assistance when required.
