Job summary

Shriners Children’s Chicago seeks a Security Officer for a PRN day shift to support safety for patients, staff, visitors, and the public on campus. The role involves greeting visitors, answering calls, and enforcing safety and security policies.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED and an Illinois driver’s license, with a preference for one year of security experience and IAHSS certification plus the 20 Hour PERC card.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Illinois driver's license required.
• One year security experience preferred.
• IAHSS certification and 20 Hour PERC card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of functions related to the safety and security of hospital staff, patients, families, visitors and general public in accordance with city, state and federal laws and regulations.
• Protect and serve Shriners Children's patients, visitors, staff and all other persons on hospital property.
• Protect the organizations' property and buildings.
• Greet and assist visitors, patients, employees and medical staff at the front lobby desk in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Answer and route telephone calls received, page and take messages as appropriate.
• Answer phone calls from hospital staff members and respond to their needs or requests in a respectful and timely manner.
