Job summary

Shriners Children’s Chicago is seeking a Security Officer to join our team. This PRN day shift position supports safety of hospital staff, patients, families and visitors, and requires professionalism and compliance with laws and hospital policies.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED and an Illinois driver's license; preferred candidates have one year of security experience, IAHSS certification, and 20 Hour PERC card.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Illinois driver's license required.
• Preferred: 1 year security experience.
• Preferred: IAHSS certification and 20 Hour PERC card.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of functions related to safety and security of hospital staff, patients, families, visitors and the general public in compliance with laws and regulations.
• Protects patients, visitors, staff and others on hospital property.
• Protects the organizations' property and buildings.
• Greet and assist visitors, patients, employees and medical staff at the front lobby desk in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Answer and route telephone calls, page and take messages as appropriate.
• Respond to requests from hospital staff in a timely and respectful manner.
