Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking a Security Officer for the Health System Shared Services Security team. The officer will patrol the medical center, provide customer service, resolve conflicts, investigate incidents, and respond to emergencies.

Candidates should be prepared to enforce rules, communicate with staff, patients and visitors, and assist in restraint when necessary. Required is a High School diploma or GED with 1 year of relevant experience; 2–4 years is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Certification or vocational training may be preferred.
• 1 year of relevant experience required.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Valid Ohio Driver's License; 12 months probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Security Officers perform customer service, patrol, conflict resolution, investigation and emergency response.
• Routinely patrol all areas of the medical center and report discrepancies to responsible persons.
• Respond to emergencies as first responders and assist with safety and security protocols.
• Escort, lockout and jump-starting services as needed across locations; support trauma and helicopter teams.
