Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Hospital Security Officer to safeguard healthcare premises and staff across AHN hospitals in the Pittsburgh area. You will monitor for suspicious activity, provide customer service, and maintain safety with vigilance and professionalism.

The role requires patrolling, de-escalation when needed, and potential patient escort duties. Full-time, $19.00 per hour, with weekly pay and comprehensive benefits; on-site presence across multiple locations is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check will be conducted in accordance with applicable laws.
• Drug screen will be required where permitted by law.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
• Post offer, complete training and obtain a Management of Aggressive Behavior certification.

Responsibilities

• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity.
• Patrol on foot, bicycle, or via a vehicle to check for unsafe conditions and security violations.
• De-escalate individuals verbally and physically as needed.
• Inspect security devices and fire control equipment.
• Screen members, visitors, and client employees to expedite admittance.
• Respond to emergencies such as fire, medical incidents, threats, floods, or evacuations.
• Possibly escort patients or assist with transporting deceased to the morgue.
