Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking Security Officers at Allegheny General Hospital – Northside to protect staff, visitors and facilities. This part-time role pays $18.50 per hour with shifts 3:00PM-11:00PM and 11:00PM-7:00AM, up to 24 hours per week; weekends included.

Responsibilities include patrolling, de‑escalation, screening, and responding to emergencies; training provided. Minimum requirements: 18+ (21+ for armed), HS diploma or 5 years experience, background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• Must have customer-facing experience and ability to handle stressful situations.
• Ability to de-escalate tense situations calmly and professionally.
• Background check and drug screen required by Allied Universal.

Responsibilities

• Observe and patrol for signs of crime, hazards, and unauthorized individuals.
• Escort and assist staff and patients as needed.
• Screen visitors to expedite admittance and ensure safety.
• Respond to emergencies with calm urgency and coordinate with hospital staff.
