Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking a Security/Maintenance Associate to protect staff, visitors, patients and property across the hospital campus. The role will respond to security alerts, fires, and disasters while performing general maintenance tasks and enforcing policy.

The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, basic mechanical ability, and is able to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment with a commitment to safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Trade school certificate preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required (state dependent).
• Experience in security or related fields and customer service preferred.
• Mechanical ability related to building maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrol hospital property to ensure safety for patients, visitors, employees, etc.
• Handle and monitor patients that exhibit violent behavior.
• Investigate security-related incidents and document findings on an incident report.
• Maintain a daily activity report.
• Lock and unlock various buildings around the hospital campus.
• Be part of the fire and disaster response teams.
• Enforce hospital parking policy.
• Greet customers with a caring and professional attitude at all times.
• Respond to agitation/violent behavior with verbal de-escalation and/or physical restraint as needed.
• Perform hazardous patient decontamination procedures and manage PPE and waste disposal.
• Work independently in a safe and responsible manner; demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Install, repair, and maintain equipment within facilities.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks/inspections on equipment.
• Possess knowledge of general commercial building maintenance.
