Piedmont Augusta Hospital is hiring a Security Officer to safeguard patients, staff and visitors across facilities in Augusta, GA. The role involves screening for weapons, incident handling, and maintaining security of hospital properties.

Applicants should hold a high school diploma or GED, be able to pass psychological screening, and complete all required training (Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid). POST certification is preferred.

Formación

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• No experience required; 2 years in general security or public safety preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening.
• Must pass and maintain training including Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and other certifications as directed.
• Georgia POST certification preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Demonstrate Piedmont values and provide excellent customer service to patients, staff and visitors.
• Screen for and interdict weapons entering a facility.
• Maintain security of hospital, professional buildings and parking areas.
• Perform routine safety and emergency security activities; document incidents.
• Monitor at-risk patients and de-escalate difficult situations.
• Respond to aggressive behavior and apply appropriate restraints as needed.
• Document in the medical record and follow PHC policies and laws.
• Direct traffic when required and assist patients/visitors in emergencies.
