Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Public Safety Officer to provide unarmed security services across Swedish Hospital. The role supports patient and staff safety, patrolling facilities, directing traffic, and assisting visitors with directions.

It requires a high school diploma, at least one year in a customer-facing role, and relevant licenses within set timelines. The position is part-time (24 hours), with swing shifts including weekends and varying start times.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a customer-focused service-based organization.
• CPR certification within 90 days of start date.
• Valid Illinois Firearm Owner's Identification Card within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Patrols facilities and grounds on foot or in vehicle according to schedule and investigates unusual occurrences.
• Report incidents of theft or loss and assist police when needed.
• Respond to service calls in a timely, safe, courteous manner.
• Provide directions and escorts to patients and visitors as needed.
• Direct vehicle traffic and issue parking citations as required.
• Physically restrain unruly individuals when necessary and involve police when required.
• Protect valuables and monitor lost and found handling.
• Check doors, windows, alarms and safety equipment; notify if issues arise.
• Investigate thefts and incidents; prepare clear documentation.
