Job summary

Cozad Community Health System seeks a Registered Nurse to provide and oversee patient care across medical, surgical, obstetric, newborn, pediatric, ER, and telemetry services. You will collaborate with the health care team to implement care plans and ensure safety and quality.

The ideal candidate holds an Associates or Bachelors in Nursing, Nebraska RN license, CPR; ACLS/TNCC/PALS/NRP certifications preferred. Rural healthcare experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited College of Nursing.
• One year of full-time experience in rural healthcare preferred.
• Electronic Health Records experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process, for the performance of patient care, to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care to achieve prioritized patient outcomes according to the RN scope of practice.
• Performs comprehensive nursing assessments effectively and efficiently according to patient type; Medical, Surgical, Obstetrical, Newborn, Pediatric, ER, Swing Bed and Telemetry/Cardiac patients.
• Collaborates with Medical Staff, management, and other healthcare team members to coordinate and manage plan of care for patients.
• Performs emergency treatments as required.
• Administers medications, treatments, and procedures in a timely and safe manner according to physician orders and nursing policy, using standard precautions.
• Documents accurate and ongoing assessments of patient status that reflect nursing interventions, patient responses, patient teaching, and status of outcomes at discharge.
• Implements infectious disease controls including isolation, proper hand washing, and PPE.
• Performs and maintains documentation.
• Provides quality healthcare services to all patients and participates in providing quality metrics.
• Follows all HIPAA guidelines and promotes and ensures patient safety.
• Fulfills mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive and professional environment.
• Special projects and other duties as assigned.
