Qualifications

• Three years experience performing insurance billing, collection, or accounts receivable in a hospital environment.
• Knowledge of UB04 and CMS 1500 claims forms; government, managed care and third-party payer billing.
• Ability to supervise clerical staff and coordinate billing processes.
• Strong communication with insurance representatives and internal staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise clerical staff performing complex billing and collection processes.
• Ensure claims billed timely and correctly to maximize reimbursements and increase cash flow.
• Confers with insurance representatives and internal staff on billing matters and answers questions.
• Train staff in billing and collection procedures and update them on policy changes.
• Prepare and audit claims, statements and reports from various sources.
