Job summary

CenterPointe Hospital of Columbia is seeking an experienced Director of Business Office to lead financial counseling, billing, and collections across all service lines.

Plan, organize, and supervise business office activities, delivering timely cash collections and strong internal controls while collaborating with leadership and insurance carriers to support the hospital’s financial goals.

Qualifications

• Strong revenue cycle technical skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
• Five or more years’ job-related experience required.
• Three or more years’ supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report on cash collections, days outstanding, denials, and other metrics with CFO.
• Establish controls for cash handling in patient accounting system.
• Coordinate with third‑party insurers to resolve cash-flow issues.
• Provide staff management including hiring, development, and performance management.
• Maintain communication with leadership to ensure compliance with guidelines.
• Oversee outside collection vendors and approve agency invoices.
• Lead business office activities related to claims management and collections.
• Support departmental goals and provide leadership for the team.
• Review statistical reports to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Utilization Review and Admissions to ensure proper insurance authorizations.
• Direct subordinate staff to achieve organizational objectives.
